Today we’re featuring a creative chick whom I’m quite fond of, Allison Czarnecki.  With no bad connotation implied, I’d say “for a good time, call Allison,” though by “good time” I mean the most fun you’ve had in your life.  You can’t take that phrase that way?  Well, you should get your mind out of the gutter.  Truly, though, Allison is a blast to be around.  Her creative energy is electric.  Allison truly does light up a room.

Allison Czarnecki is the mother of the two most beautiful children on the planet {not partial or anything} and the wife of a Polish immigrant. She’s also the founder and editor of the popular family lifestyle blog Petit Elefant in addition to numerous other pursuits she doesn’t really have time for. She’s most happy when drinking a cold Diet Dr. Pepper while thrifting at garage sales or D.I. or while dipping her toes in the warm California ocean.

1. Why is creativity important to you?

Creativity is what keeps me humming, it’s what gets me up in the morning and keeps me going day after day. If I had no creativity in my life I wouldn’t surround myself with beautiful things and life would be super boring.

2. What do you enjoy creating the most?

I enjoy creating things in my home, like painting a wall, or redecorating a room, thinking of colors and palettes and new fun accessories and paintings and how they’ll all go together in my house.

3. Do you have any fears when creating? Are your family & friends supportive of the things you create?

No way! I used to be afraid of color on the walls in my home, but once I got over that it’s all been gravy since. I’ve painted my walls purple, bright yellow, red, brown, bright blue, you name it. Life is too short to have white walls.

4. How do you find time to create?

I don’t have time NOT to create. It’s just a part of who I am and what I do every day. If I don’t create I’m completely stifled and unfulfilled so I just find ways to sneak it into my day-to-day life.

5. Words of inspiration to creative chicks:

Life’s too short not to be creative. Take a class in watercolor, learn to throw pots, paint your walls that color you’ve always dreamed about. Just get out there and do it!

Isn’t Allison fabulous?!  If you get the chance to hang out with Allison, you MUST take that opportunity.  You’ll have the time of your life!  Thanks for inspiring us with your creativity, Allison!
