Today’s inspiring creative chick is the fabulous Marie of MakeAndTakes.com.
Marie LeBaron is the owner and founder of Make and Takes (www.makeandtakes.com), a website sharing kids crafts, home crafts, easy recipes, and parenting tips. She’s a crafter, foodie, and mother of 3. She also loves to read, run, and blog!
1. Why is creativity important to you?
It makes me happy. Being creative is a form of therapy for me. It takes me to a new place and I get caught up in the moment.
2. What do you enjoy creating the most?
I love to craft with my kids. I love to see their imagination come through in crafts. They learn so many skills as they craft, I just love to watch their cute little faces problem-solve as they create!
3. Do you have any fears when creating? Are your family & friends supportive of the things you create?
I have fears when I try to create something with materials I’ve not used very often. I wish I could crochet or knit better. I also wish I could sew using a pattern, they are still so confusing to me. But I do have a great support system. My family and friends are great, often crafting with me.
4. How do you find time to create?
I tend to decorate my home with my crafts, especially around the holidays. And it seems there’s a fun holiday to celebrate and craft for each month. So we’re crafting in time for each upcoming holiday.
5. Words of inspiration to creative chicks:
Try, try, and try again. I have made so many mistakes and blunders, but I learn from them and just try again!
