Wasatch Woman of the Year Luncheon

I’m soooooo excited for this year’s Wasatch Woman Magazine’s Woman of the Year luncheon!!!!  I just wanted to write quickly here to mention it and let you know that I give my seal of approval: it will be awesome.

For those of you who don’t know what it is, every year people submit nominations for the “Wasatch Woman of the Year” awards.  There is an overall winner (the “Wasatch Woman of the Year”) and then there are five other women who are honored in the various categories of: motherhood, business, perseverance, community and up and coming.  Since I’m on the Wasatch Woman Magazine’s editorial advisory board, I had the unique opportunity of getting to help select the winners.  There were SOOOO many fabulous nominations that it was very, very difficult to make a decision, but one had to be made.

At the luncheon, we’ll get – besides a scrumptious lunch – to hear the Wasatch Woman of the Year speak.  I’m not sure if the other honorees will speak also, though I assume they will.  Regardless, it’s an event that will leave every attendee filled with the fire to really create something beautiful with their lives.

Linda Hill, the 2010 Wasatch Woman of the Year, is an incredibly inspiring woman who is the mother of seven children and has had various types of cancer multiple times (4 to be exact – each time there was no surety that she would survive).  Linda is a true survivor, in every sense of the word.  She uses humor and gratitude to combat life’s challenges.  I loved this little series of pics, along with her quote, from her feature in the January/February issue of Wasatch Woman Magazine.
